Not necessarily the programming or routing protocols behind them, but how they work, what how they are connected to other systems, and what control - if any - users have over the data once it is released into the wild. I added that last sentence in almost as an afterthought, but on reflection I think this is an important point: adults – especially PARENTS of kids who use social media – need to develop their own tech savvy about these tools.
